Wills Creek Road closed for work

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Engineer's Office has announced that Wills Creek Road will be closed for 60 days, as of Tuesday, from Ohio 83 to Ferncliff Road for a large culvert replacement.

Genealogical workshop at Trinity Church

ZANESVILLE − The Morgan County Chapter of The Ohio Genealogical Society is holding a genealogical and DNA organization workshop with Kelli Bergheimer from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128, S. Seventh St. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

There will be two sessions under the topic of How to Clear the Mess on Your Desk. Part one is on papers, photos and documents and the other is on digital organization. Other topics are how to use tools to organize and analyze your autosomal DNA matches and organizing your DNA matches with sorting, filtering and clustering tools.

MHRS board to meet

ZANESVILLE − The Mental Health and Recovery Services board will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. May 11 at the board office, 1500 Coal Run Road. The finance and audit committee and partners workgroup will meet prior at 6 p.m.

Music club offering concert

ZANESVILLE − The Thursday Music Club will present a concert with the John Glenn High School String Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. May 9 at Central Trinity United Methodist Church, 62 S. Seventh St. There will also be be music composed and performed by Steve Hixson, member of the music club.

Sheriff's office get recertified

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County and Perry County sheriffs' offices have been recertified by the Ohio Collaborative Community Police Advisory Board. Agencies are initially certified after adopting and implementing two standards regarding use of force and hiring and recruitment. Recertification takes place on a revolving three- to four-year cycle.

SWCD to meet

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session at 4 p.m. May 9 at the Rural Services Building, 225 Underwood St.
