Prasco Park in Mason will once again be the host of the All-Star Game for the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, a summer baseball league for college players.

The game will begin at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 12. The event is free of charge to the public and there will be several food trucks available for fans.

The Cincinnati area has two teams in the league, the Hamilton Joes and Cincinnati Steam, who are both part of the South Division.

All 13 teams are represented with the two rosters divided representing both the North and South Divisions. Each all-star team roster is composed of two players per position and 10 pitchers each throwing one inning during the game.

The Hamilton Joes had the most selections, eight players. Joes manager Tyler Thamann will be the head coach of the South Division.

The all-stars were selected in a process that included feedback from representatives of all 13 teams.

All of the players selected, both all-stars and alternates, will participate in a showcase on the turf field at Prasco in front of major league scouts that will be in attendance. The showcase will begin at 2:30 p.m. on July 12.

Cincinnati Steam players Brennan Rowe (second base) and Tommy Thamann (outfield) have been designated as starters along with Hamilton Joes pitcher Chase Hopewell.

Rowe, who plays for Northern Kentucky University, is hitting .344 with eight steals, 14 RBI and nine extra-base hits.

Thamann, an Elder grad playing for Tiffin University, is hitting .344 with 11 steals and 18 runs scored.
