Local posts choose flower representatives

Flower representatives have been chosen by the area veteran organizations to represent their respective posts during Ashland's Memorial Day festivities.

Audrie and Ian Shirley will represent Harry Higgins Post 88 of the American Legion during Memorial Day festivities.

Audrie and Ian Shirley will represent Harry Higgins Post 88 of the American Legion. Audrie is a fourth-grader at St. Edward School. She is a member of the Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 88. Ian is in kindergarten at St. Edward School. He is a member of Sons of the American Legion Squadron 88. Parents are Jesy Boales and Jason Shirley. Grandparents are Peggy and Keith Boales, Jack Shirley and Carrie and Dale Schmitt.

Ava Lorentz and Adrianna Reed-Banks have been chosen to be the flower representatives for VFW Post 1067. Ava, 11, is a fifth-grader at Mapleton Elementary School. Her parents are Ryan and Mashala Lorentz. She is the granddaughter of Marcy Braun Leidigh, Linda Lorentz, Jim Mitchel and Mark and Shirley Gilliland. Adrianna is a fourth-grader at Taft Elementary School. She is the daughter of Tyrone and Nikki Banks. Grandparents are Cindy Belanger, Diane and Denny Brown and Patricia and Billy Banks.

Grandparents are Nancy Gray and James and Julianne Spreng. Great-grandparents are Ron and Kay Jenkins. Abigail is a home-schooled kindergartener. Parents are Jeffrey and Kaitlyn Moore. Grandparents are Bill and LaJane Moore. Great-grandparents are Rose Martin, Jim and Roseanne Dudte and David and Jennie Boyer.
