Here are the top 3 stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. "I think that there aren't enough words to describe how everyone is feeling," said Rabbi Stephen Kahn, with Congregation Beth Israel in Scottsdale. That was the reaction of Rabbi Kahn to the 11-hour siege at the Colleyville Synagogue in Texas on Saturday. According to reporting in AZ Family, "There is no American Jew who is engaged in the community who says, 'this is Texas, it was far away,'" said Rabbi Shmuly Yanklowitz with the Scottsdale-based nonprofit Valley Beit Midrash. "Rabbi Yanklowitz said, 'There are those in the community who want very low levels of security, those who want very high levels of security, but at the end of the day, we will need to commit to both values... being completely secure but being totally welcoming.'" (Arizona's Family)

  2. Arizona nonprofits have until Feb. 28 to register to participate in Arizona Gives Day. The 24-hour online fundraising event, from noon on April 5 until noon on April 6, has raised more than $30 million for nonprofits across the state, according to Prescott eNews. The 2021 fundraising mark was a record at $7.1 million. (Prescott eNews)

  3. The day is here! Buzzed Bull Creamery is opening its "premium made-to-order alcoholic and non-alcoholic frozen dessert and coffee concept" at the Scottsdale Waterfront, 7135 East Camelback Road, Suite 151. The creamery claims to be a is a "fun, friendly, community-minded, and indulgent experience outside of traditional bars and restaurants." (AZ Big Media)
