These local restaurants will participate in Pekin Restaurant Week this February

The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that Pekin Restaurant Week, a five-day celebration of the city’s culinary scene, will take place Feb. 7 to Feb. 12.

“We are excited to highlight the variety of restaurant options available to our Pekin residents and guests throughout the region,” said Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy McCoy.

To date, 16 Pekin restaurants have signed up to participate in the five-day event. As part of the promotion, the Chamber will present $100 Chamber Checks to three restaurant patrons. Chamber Checks are community-based checks that operate as gift certificates for participating businesses. Patrons selected for Chamber Checks must submit proofs of purchase to the Chamber.

Accounting for the impact of COVID-19 on small businesses, the Chamber has included dine-in as well as delivery and carry-out menu options as part of the promotion.

“(Pekin has) delicious pizza, steak and salmon dinners, Irish fare, (and the) best donuts around,” said McCoy. “There’s just a great selection here.”

McCoy added that the Chamber promotes Shop Local events throughout the year as a crucial endeavor to support growth and expansion of Pekin’s business community. More information on Pekin Restaurant Week is available at pekinchamber.com.
