Mar. 13—Boys' Golf

T-Breds repeat as Battle of the River champions

South Aiken's boys' golf team edged Mead Hall by five shots Saturday at Cedar Creek Golf Club to capture the Battle of the River title for the second year in a row.

The T-Breds finished with a team total of 317. Mead Hall was second at 322, followed by Aiken (340), Augusta Christian (355), Midland Valley (408) and Wagener-Salley (446).

Boys' Soccer

Aiken 4, Silver Bluff 1

Reid Raintree continued his hot streak by scoring four goals in Aiken High's 4-1 win over Silver Bluff on Saturday.

Rountree finished the week with seven goals and three assists to help keep the Hornets unbeaten to open the season. Erik Strom, Colin Drake, Marco Diaz and Gabriel Negrete all had an assist, and Tristan Troutman made three saves in net.

Up next for Aiken (8-0, 1-0 Region 4-AAAA) is a road match Tuesday at Midland Valley.

Girls' Soccer

Aiken 8, Silver Bluff 1

Aiken High cruised to an 8-1 win over Silver Bluff on Saturday.

Resa Slack scored a hat trick and Gracie Patterson had two goals and two assists to lead the way. Margaret Clifford, Damaris Gonzalez and Carolina Salinas each scored a goal, and Olivia Fogt, Olivia Blaszczak and Mia DeTroye each had an assist. Salinas, Addison Baker and Patterson combined for the shutout in net for the Hornets (5-4), who host Midland Valley on Tuesday.

Aiken 3, Stall 2

Aidan Onderdonk Snow scored a hat trick, with all three goals coming in the second half, as Aiken beat Stall 3-2 on Friday.

Reid Raintree had two assists, Marco Diaz had an assist, and Job Diaz made five saves in net.

Aiken 4, North Augusta 2

Aiken High picked up its first Region 4-AAAA win of the season Friday by beating North Augusta.

Resa Slack scored three goals, and Mia DeTroye had the fourth. Carolina Pettigrew and Olivia Fogt had assists. Carolina Salinas made eight saves in net.
