Local roundup: Isaac Parker, Spruce Mountain get the best of Madison in pitchers' duel

May 5—MADISON — Isaac Parker pitched a shutout and collected three hits to lead Spruce Mountain to a 1-0 Mountain Valley Conference baseball win over Madison on Tuesday.

Parker struck out six and walked two while allowing six hits for the Phoenix (2-4).

Jack Theriault threw all seven innings for the Bulldogs (2-4), allowing six hits and one walk while striking out 13.

Taryn Cloutier scored five goals and Emily Wallingford had four as the Saints (1-2) downed the Raiders (0-3) at Fryeburg.

Natalie Brocke, Isabella Pelletier, Giselle Ouellette, Jessica Zimmerman, Emma Roy and Emma Clark also scored. Natalie Russell made 14 saves.

Hope Duffy scored three goals for Fryeburg Academy. Maggie Powers finished with 12 saves.
