The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 4:46 p.m., at the intersection of U.S. 42 and Centerville Road in Spring Valley.

A preliminary investigation shows that a 55-year-old man from Dayton driving a 1995 Harley Davidson Electra Guide Classic motorcycle failed to leave an assured clear distance ahead, which caused him to crash into a 2004 Honda Accord, Ross said.

The Honda and motorcycle were both traveling northeast on U.S. 42 when the Honda slowed to a stop to turn left, or west, onto Centerville Road, Ross said.

This is when the motorcycle crashed into the back of the Honda.

After crashing, the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
