ADRIAN – Aubrey Hensley is Bedford’s home run queen.

The sophomore hit her 19th career homer and added 5 stolen bases to propel Bedford to a 20-1 win over Adrian Wednesday.

Hensley slammed 11 home runs as a freshman and already has 8 roundtrippers this season.

She broke the school record held by Jennie Bringman.

“Aubrey is an incredible athlete,” Bedford coach Marla Gooding said. “She’s an elite player in that top tier. … Aubrey is the player that never takes a pitch off in games or in practice. It doesn’t matter the score, she plays the game the right way all the time.

“The kid is such an absolute workhorse that it doesn’t surprise me. The best part is, she’s extremely humble and all about her teammates. She doesn’t ever ask about her own stats or talk about her records, she wants to win and help others.”
