Local Sports Highlights: Anderson a win from 700th; Dugan grabs 100th career victory

Streaks take Panthers
GALESBURG — The Galesburg High School bowling team competed against United Township on Wednesday night.
And the Silver Streaks came away with a win over the Panthers.
Galesburg recored a score of 2,305 while UT’s was 2,265.
The Silver Streaks’ Chloe Day had overall high three game series with a 622. Elle Shinn (529), Iris Brechbuhler (426), Angelina Spears (366), and Alissa Schultz also contributed to Galesburg’s team total.

Anderson a win away from 700
WILLIAMSFIELD — ROWVA/Williamsfield boys basketball coach Bob Anderson needs just one victory to secure his 700th in his 43 year career.
The Cougars edged the Flying Geese of Wethersfield 46-44 on Tuesday night to give Anderson win number 699. He’s accumulated 529 losses.
R/W will take on Stark County on Friday night at ROWVA's Bob Meredith Gym.
AREA GIRLS BASKETBALL
Tornadoes beat Blue Bullets
WYOMING — The Abingdon-Avon High School girls basketball team beat Knoxville 63-47 on Wednesday night in Lincoln Trail Conference tourney action.
Brook Pieper had 19 points to lead the Tornadoes. Ashley Jones finished with 15 points, and Mackenzie James chipped in 10 points for A-Town.
Kynlee Stearns led the Blue Bullets with 19 points. Jadyn Walker finished with 11 points for Knoxville.
The victory over the Blue Bullets gave Tornadoes coach Brent Dugan his 100th career win.
In the other LTC tourney game, Princeville upset Annawan 50-36.
