SYLVANIA, Ohio – Payton Pudlowski scored just 2 points through the first three quarters for Bedford’s girls basketball team Saturday.

But with her team leading Sylvania Southview by a single point heading into the final period, Pudlowski picked up the pace.

The junior guard hit a pair of 3-pointers and pumped in 8 points down the stretch to help the Mules dominate the fourth quarter 21-7 and pull away for a 54-39 victory.

Coach Bill Ryan said that kind of display was nothing new for Pudlowski.

“She kind of waits for her moment and doesn’t chase her points,” he said. “She lets the game come to her and picks her spots.”

Ava Gray did something similar for Bedford in the second quarter, hitting a pair of 3-pointers to keep the Mules afloat when they were battling foul trouble.

“Ava Gray hit two really big 3s,” Ryan said. “She’s a sniper for us. She’s a great 3-point shooter.”

Pudlowski and Victoria Gray scored 10 points each as Bedford pushed its record to 2-0.

“I am really proud of the composure they showed today,” Ryan said of his players. “It was a very physical game … We found out little bit about ourselves today.”
