Jun. 16—Dan Stone of Thompson is participating in the Super Late Model Appalachian Mountain Speedweek. Midway through the eight-race schedule, Stone is ninth in the standings with 1,482 points. That is 156 points behind leader Tyler Emory of King George, Virginia.

In the opener June 9 at Clinton County Speedway in Mill Hall, Stone finished 13th. He was sixth at Port Royal Speedway and ninth at Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland. Race No. 4 at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run was rained out Tuesday.

Speedweek was scheduled to continue Thursday and Friday at Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway. It heads to Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown on Saturday before concluding Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway.

Nothing but Smith

Scranton's Mikey Smith led all 25 laps to capture the NY6A Hoosier 600 Sprint Tour feature at Genesee Speedway in Batavia, New York.

It is his second Tour victory of the season — the other came in the opener at Genesee last month. He also has second-place finishes at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, New York, and Bradford Speedway; older brother Johnny Smith won both those races.

Mikey Smith leads the standings after four of 16 events with 448 points. That is 10 ahead of Jason Moll. The next scheduled race is Friday at Skyline Raceway in Cortland, New York.

Date change

Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, New York, was scheduled to hold the Mike Colsten Remembered 51 on June 20. That race has been moved to July 17 with a rain date of July 18.

Also, the Sunday Summer Series race scheduled for July 16 has been canceled so as to not conflict with the benefit for Doug Worthing in Owego, New York, on the same day. Worthing, named one of Five Mile Point's original 50 Greatest Drivers in 2000, is battling health issues.

The next Sunday Summer Series race will be July 30 with the running of the Heath Memorial.
