Local trucking company to pull in to Red Hills

Jul. 19—THOMASVILLE — A local trucking company ls lining up to be the next business to call the Red Hills Business Park home.

Thomasville Payroll Development Authority members agreed to set aside a 4.04 acre for Tony and Tabitha Williams' company, Express Trucking.

The Williamses presented their business plan to the PDA back in April, and the PDA members were floored.

"It was one of the best we've ever seen," PDA executive director Shelley Zorn said.

The Williamses plan to expand their business. Right now, they have six drivers but they want to add at least four more trucks, two office personnel, repair and truck wash personnel and security, bringing their total employees to around 15.

"I think they intend to grow jobs," said PDA member Stephen Cheney. "They've got an established business."

"We're excited for you," PDA member Jay Flowers told the Williamses.

Architect Leon Lynn is working on drawings for their building, and the company will have abide by the PDA's covenants for the tract, including landscaping and fencing. The deal is contingent upon the company meeting the PDA's criteria.
