  1. Pawtucket School Committee Chairwoman Erin Dube and Vice Chairman Roberto Moreno were both unanimously re-elected to their leadership posts during a meeting on January 4th. Dube affirms the ongoing reconstruction of the elementary schools and the planned unified high school upgrade in 2022 "will bring generational change to the city of Pawtucket." (The Valley Breeze)

  2. A local man has been sentenced to serve three to four years behind bars for a series of crimes in the Rhode Island area. 38-year-old Luis Adorno of Providence pleaded guilty in December to an array of charges, including armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and driving to endanger. Prosecutors said Adorno stole flat-screen TVs on several occasions from Walmart; since 2013, he has been arrested in several RI towns, including Pawtucket. (WPRI)

  3. The Pawtucket Arts Collaborative and the Pawtucket Foundation announced the 14th annual Pawtucket Foundation Prize Exhibition. The show is open to all artists, in all media (2-D and 3-D) and first prize winners will be awarded $1,000. Entries will be accepted through midnight of Feb. 21, and the show will run from March 17 through May 5. (The Valley Breeze)
