Dillinger hits ace during Coconis League

Terry Dillinger carded his first career hole-in-one at the age of 75, using a 4-wood to ace the 130-yard 10th hole at EagleSticks during Tuesday's Coconis Furniture League. The shot was witnessed by Don Bush, Zack Forker and Joe Shaffer.

Low gross winners were Zack Ferguson with 34 on the front nine and Forker with 36 on the back, while low net on the front was 27 by Craig Searls and on the back was 28 by Steve Woodward.

Green Valley hosting Junior Golf Clinic

Green Valley will hold a Junior Golf Clinic for 10 weeks on Fridays, starting on June 3 and running through Aug. 5.

This is for boys and girls ages 8-12 and 13-17 and runs from 8 a.m. to noon each Friday. Classes will begin with 45 minutes of instruction, while beginning golfers will go to All Seasons for the first two weeks to learn grip, set up and full swing.

There will be handouts and golf favors, and we will discuss golf etiquette, basic rules, and on course management during the clinic. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay during the lessons.

Cost is $180 in advance for nine weeks and receive a week free or pay $20 per week. For more information, call the pro shop at 740-452-7105.

Results from Green Valley League

Jenny Gainer-Frey carded 35 for low gross and Gainer-Frey, Michele Young, Emily Brady, Kim Kelsey and Brittany Stubbs tied for low net in the Park National Bank Ladies League on Wednesday.

Winning teams were 1, 3, 4, 7, 12, 13, 16, 19 and 20.

Shirley Rush shot 43 for low gross and had low net of 30 in the Edward Jones/Scott Barr Ladies League on Wednesday.

Charlotte McGuire had a chip-in on No. 6; the weekly game winners with most 6's were Krystal Maziar & Ginger Williams; and winning teams were 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Jimmy Pitcock posted a low gross of 29 on the back nine and Brian Hartley had a low net of 24 in the Rice-Galloway Optometry League on Tuesday. Green Valley was low net team with 110.

The Wednesday Night Parettes Golf League had Mary Burkhart with low gross of 38 and low net of 24. Winning teams were 1, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 12.

Smith, Geyer highlight Geyer Family League

Jay Smith fired 33 for low gross and Doug Geyer had 27 for low net in the GEYER FAMILY INSURANCE Wednesday League at Fuller's Fairways.

Results from ZCC Leagues

The Ladies Auxiliary played Count only Even Holes - Net game on Wednesday.

The 18 Holers were led by Bonnie Joseph with 30, Becky Weir with 32, and Vicky French with 33, who was third on a scorecard playoff.

Joan Minning led 9 Holers after a scorecard playoff with 12, while Diane Decenso also had 12 and Lisa Johnson had 14.

DeeDee Dodson made the longest putt on No. 9 (6-feet-2).

The Charlie Goelz League played a Foursome 1 best ball: par 5’s, 2 best balls par 4’s and 3 best balls: par 3’s. The winners were Doug Myers, Eric Holsky, Scott Webb and Bryan Graham at 12-under, while Ryan Linn, Phil Laube, Cole Ryan and Larry Shank were second at 7-under, and Fred Branditz, Kevin Miller, Colin McCall and Dave Grosshandler were third at 7-under after a scorecard playoff.

Linn made the longest putt on No. 2 (33-feet-0), and Shawn Melsheimer was closest to the pin on No. 8 (6-9).

The Thursday Evening Ladies League played 1 Best Ball 4’s and 5’s – 2 Best Balls 3’s format on the back nine.

Becky Weir, Bonnie Joseph, Lisa Johnson and Vicky French won with 31; Cindy Linn, Joan Minning, Shari Weingarth and Ann Melick were second with 32 and Ellen Nist, Lou Taylor, Lisa Johnson and Kristy Paul were third with 35.

Vista Senior League results

In the Palmer Division, Brent Bunting scored low gross with 34 with Tom Denton at 37, while low net was 31 by Dave Kurtz and 33 from Dave Cox.

Division leaders Steve Johnson & Tony Beardmore 12.5 points, Tom Sieber & Fran Clifton 12, Jim Sander & Jim Roberts 11.5, Chuck Ford & Bob Kimble 11, Terry Matchett & John Crown 11 and Nick Madden & Steve Senter 11.

In the Nicklaus Division, Ed Middaugh had low gross of 42 and Earl Orend 43, while low net was 31 by Ed Middaugh and Tim Younkins and 32 from Doug Elekes.

Youth Baseball League results

In West Muskingum Youth League 8U Softball, Bristol Sands and Penelope Higdon had 5 hits each to lead West Muskingum The Undertakers over the Byesville Purple Raiders 22-1. Gabbie Cox, Paige Mounts, and Hailey Lazor had 4 hits each and Brielle Grubb, Rae McGee, and Annie Higdon 3 hits each for the winners.

West Muskingum The Undertakers defeated Zanesville RML 11-4. The Undertakers were led by Bristol Sands with 4 hits and Brielle Grubb, Gabbie Cox, and Penelope Higdon with 3 hits each.

In Muskingum Valley League Baseball 12U Baseball, John Glenn Ables Heating defeated West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative 11-10. Amari Harris had a double and single and Dente Tyson hit a 3-run home run to lead West Muskingum.

Muskingum holding annual golf outing

The Muskingum University Athletic Department is hosting its annual golf outing at EagleSticks at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15. Cost is $100 per golfer or $400 per foursome and includes 18 holes of golf, drink tickets, raffles, and dinner.

All proceeds from the event benefit Muskie student-athletes. Additionally, the event will feature a golf ball drop contest $10 per ball with a chance to win $1,000 if your ball lands closest to the hole or in the hole.

JG T&F/CC Boosters holding golf outing

The John Glenn Track & Field/Cross Country Boosters are hosting a Golf Scramble at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Jaycee Public Golf Course in Zanesville. Single golfers are $60, while teams of four are $240, which includes a gift and lunch.

There are also $5 skins game, $10 Milligan, and other special games available. Payment can be made to John Glenn Track Boosters c/o Doug Joy, 13115 John Glenn School Rd, New Concord, OH 43762.
