Locally... Youth Baseball Leagues starting

MVL 12U baseball among area youth scores

In Muskingum Valley League 12U baseball, West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative defeated Zanesville Park National Bank 22-15. The Energy Cooperative was led by Max Higdon's two doubles and two singles, Amari Harris's triple and two singles, and two hits each by Ryder Rose, Dente Tyson, and Austin Fink.

West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative defeated Glenford Hill Real Estate 6-4. Amari Harris and Brody Koehler each homered for The Energy Cooperative. Ryan Schnieder got the pitching win and Ryder Rose picked up the save.

Thornville American Legion Post 342 beat West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative 9-8. Dente Tyson had a home run and two singles and Amari Harris homered to lead West Muskingum.

West Muskingum Anna Foster Realty topped West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative 9-2. Hudson Chema led the winners with a double and two singles. Brody Koehler led the losers with a double.

West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative defeated Sheridan McLain Hill Rugg & Assoc. 6-4. Dente Tyson was winning pitcher, giving up one run with nine strikeouts. Amari Harris got the save by striking out 12 in three innings.

Austin Fink had two hits, including a walk-off 2-run single in the final inning to lead West Muskingum The Energy Cooperative to a 7-6 win over Sheridan B&K Drive Thru. Amari Harris homered and singled twice and got the win in relief, while Ryan Schnieder added a pair of singles.

In West Muskingum Youth League 8U softball, Chandlersville defeated West M The Undertakers 9-3. The Undertakers were led by Gabby Cox's four hits, and Brielle Grubb, Paige Mounts, and Hailey Lazor with two hits each.

Seyerle makes ace

Bill Seyerle had his fourth career hole-in-one Monday night in the opening night of the Terry’s Tavern Golf League at Green Valley Golf Club.

He used a utility club on the 125-yard 17th hole to accomplish the feat, and shot 34 for his round. The shot was witnessed by Beth Seyerle, Jon Dickson and Larry Mitchell.

Ladies Auxiliary plays scramble

The Zanesville Country Club Ladies Auxiliary played a scramble on Wednesday, as the 18 holers, on net score, were led by Paula Brunton, Susan Baltzer, Janet Pompei and Vicky French and Linda Phillips with 52.8.

The 9 holers were led by Toby Rogovin, Cindy Linn, Joan Minning and Ann Somple with 28.75. The closest to pin winner was Cindy Linn on No. 8 (45-feet).

Beardsley highlights Geyer League

John Beardsley fired 36 for low gross while Beardsley, Liam Blake and Brett Steed had 35 for low net in the Geyer Family Insurance Wednesday League at Fuller's Fairways.

Goelz League played foursome scramble

The Zanesville Country Club Charlie Goelz League played a Stand A Side scramble on Wednesday.

Kevin Miller, Doug Waltman and Lucas Howard won at 5-under, while Will Wisecarver, Dan Sylvester and Scott Webb were second at 4-under, and third at 2-under was Blake Hartford, Bob Moon, Jerry Nolder and Rusty Montgomery.

Rick Campbell made the longest putt on No. 11 at 4-feet-5, and Doug Waltman was closest to pin on No. 18 (11-feet-10).

Green Valley Couples League to begin May 20

The Friday Night Couples League at Green Valley will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, May 20. If you are interested, please contact Mike Hinton at 740-455-3409.

Green Valley will also have open golf all weekend due to the ZHS Tipoff Club Outing being moved to next Saturday, May 14.
