Locals Kayak Down Flooded Street in San Luis Obispo
A child was seen kayaking through a flooded street in San Luis Obispo, California, on Monday, January 9, as an intense storm hit the region.
This footage, filmed by Jennifer Wessels, shows a man escorting a young girl paddling through the streets. Wessels told Storyful that a neighbor “took my nieces out in his kayak” after the storm hit the area.
Almost all of California saw rainfall totals of between 400 and 600 percent above average values “over the past several weeks”, according to the National Weather Service.
