Lockdown lifted at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School after student brings toy gun to school

Yarmouth Police say they are “actively investigating an incident” at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

The school was placed in lockdown on Friday morning. That lockdown has since been lifted, according to a social media post by police.

According to police, a male student brought a toy gun to school. Another student saw it and reported it.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed into lockdown, police say.

The student is talking to the school admin and resource officer and there are no charges at this time.

Friday is the last day of school at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

Boston 25 News has reached out to the school system for more information.
