For those of you who are caught up with Grey’s Anatomy, (1) congrats, and (2) you’re probably incredibly frustrated with Meredith this season. Basically, she got fired from the hospital for committing insurance fraud last season, and she’s currently being the worst about it.

The funny thing is, fans found a little plot hole in that entire storyline. Well, maybe not a plot hole, technically, but one of those things where it’s like, “If they had just done this ONE THING, they could have avoided this wholeee other thing.” Is there a name for that? IDK, someone invent one.

Someone on Reddit wrote about how Meredith could have avoided committing fraud, which caused her to get fired.

“Honestly, I really thought they’d come up with a better option than insurance fraud....I thought they’d just offer him [the father] a job at the hospital as a janitor or something and she [the daughter] could be covered under his awesome new benefits. Lol but then Mer couldn’t go do time on the work crew and would be saving lives/not going to jail. So clearly the second option was smarter lol.”

Um...this person has a major point here. It would have been so easy to give this guy a job, which would give him access to Grey Sloan’s medical benefits. The character even said he had a job cleaning buildings elsewhere, so it would have been even easier for Grey Sloan to make that happen.

The one problem with this plan is timing. It would probably take a while for benefits to kick in at a new job, and his daughter Gabby needed surgery ASAP. The other problem with this plan is it would have created WAY less drama for Grey’s to play with this season, and at the end of the day, this IS a TV show. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
