Update: New London, Minnesota, woman injured in golf cart crash

— The injuries to a New London woman involved in a golf cart crash early Sunday were serious but not non-life threatening, according to the

Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.

Erica Fredeen, 35, of

New London,

was identified as the woman who fell out of the back of a golf cart around 12:04 a.m. Sunday in the 15000 of 85th Street Northeast in Spicer.

Responding deputies were led about 400 yards into a field east of 85th Street Northeast where they found her. Fredeen was transported by Life Link Air Ambulance to CentraCare — St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

During the initial investigation, deputies learned Erica Fredeen was riding on the back of a golf cart, driven by 39-year-old Joshua Fredeen, of New London. Two other passengers — Derek Noor, 35, of Spicer, and Megan Noor, 32, of Spicer — were uninjured.

According to the news release from Corporal Riley Kampsen, alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and the case remains under investigation.
