NEW LONDON NOTES: Tractors to be given away at tractor show this weekend

The 27th annual F.A.R.M. (Firelands Area Restorers of Machines) Tractor Show is Saturday and Sunday at New London Recreation Park.

Case and Case IH International tractors and equipment are featured and as always, admission is by donation. All makes and models of tractors are welcome.

New business in old building: Virtual Profit Solutions takes over the former PNC building in New London

Festivities will include antique tractors and gas engine displays, a kiddie pedal tractor pull, pie auction, flea market, toy show, a large playground, working demonstrations, craft show in the Hileman Building, food and the traditional tractor parade that will go around town and to the nursing home.

New this year is a slow tractor race for large and garden tractors.

Special guests will be members of the Buckeye Wheel Horse Collectors Club.

A drawing will be held for an IH Super C pedal tractor and a 1/16”-scale Case tractor. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, available from club members and at the show.

F.A.R.M. is made up of people interested in farm machines and equipment. Meetings are held at the North Fairfield Township Hall at 7:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month, and visitors are always welcome.

Club officers are Paul Lortcher, president; Dan Mahl, vice president; Jeff Scheid, secretary; and Pam Frisch, treasurer. Directors are Gene Kurzen, Steve Metro and Howard Rose Kelly.

Proceeds are used for scholarships, donations to area FFA Alumni clubs, the Salvation Army, Firelands Ambulance Service and other area activities.

New London Community Club Golf Outing is Saturday

Saturday is the first New London Community Club Golf Outing at Millstone Hills Golf Course. The four-man scramble begins at 9 a.m. Sign up is at Gilbert Hardware or by texting or calling Shannon at 419-577-6027.
