Long-anticipated opening of WinCo grocery store in Kitsap Mall around the corner
Here comes WinCo, Silverdale.
After months of construction, the nationwide grocery chain WinCo Foods will open its new location in the old Sears space of the Kitsap Mall at 9 a.m. on Aug 22, bringing new job opportunities and an additional grocery store to Silverdale.

"We’re all very excited to be bringing our employee-owned store to Silverdale," said WinCo spokesperson Noah Fleisher. "Not only did the company hear the communities in and around Silverdale loud and clear on social media when they asked for a WinCo, the city itself matches perfectly with what we look for."
A growing population, steady industry to support the community and a clear need for quality groceries at the best prices make Silverdale a great fit for WinCo, Fleisher said.
The grocer looks forward to being part of the community, Fleisher said. WinCo opened its Bremerton location in 2012.
Adding a grocery component to the Kitsap Mall's line-up of retailers is a natural fit for Silverdale, said Erin Leedham, a senior general manager at Kitsap Mall.
"At Kitsap Mall, we continuously evaluate various 'best-fit' opportunities for the center and our community," Leedham said. "We are very excited to add Winco to our merchant lineup as they are a strong retailer and grocer."
The addition of grocery stores connected to a shopping center has become more common, providing convenience for shoppers, a central location and an abundance of parking, Leedham said.
Other Kitsap Mall businesses are looking forward to the opening, Leedham said.
"We expect WinCo to be very successful and a wonderful addition to the center," she said.
The Silverdale location will be open 24 hours a day. Job opportunities at WinCo can be found at Careers.WinCoFoods.com and applications can be filled out online, according to the company.
