Detectives believe “multiple unknown suspects” were present down the block from the man when at least one person fired multiple shots, one of which hit the vendor in his upper body. He succumbed to his wound at a local hospital.

He’s been identified by the Long Beach Post as Yenner Ramirez, 37, of Wilmington.

“Detectives do not believe the victim had an interaction with any of the suspects at the time of the shooting,” police said. “The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.”
