Long-delayed Staybridge Suites back on track next to San Isidro Plaza

Apr. 3—A 3-year-old approved development plan for a 100-room Staybridge Suites hotel next to San Isidro Plaza could start construction around the end of the year, a planning consultant for the project said.

Plaza Camino Real NM LLC seeks Santa Fe Planning Commission approval of a lot-line adjustment with a neighboring property and vacating sewer and water line easements to enable construction of the three-story extended-stay hotel to start.

NM Land Solutions, representing Plaza Camino Real, hosted a virtual Early Neighborhood Notification meeting last week.

"Within the next six months, we should be getting geared up for construction," said Victoria Dalton, co-owner of NM Land Solutions.

Danbury, Conn., developer Albert J. Salame Co. through its Plaza Camino Real NM LLC subsidiary has owned the 11.5 acres of undeveloped land directly west of San Isidro Plaza since 2005. The property stretches from Cerrillos Road to what will be an extension of San Ignacio Road. The hotel will be built off the San Ignacio Road extension.

Salame has sought to build this Staybridge Suites for some four years and is now asking the commission to extend the approved development plan.
