How long will Interstate 90 rest stop in Springfield Township be closed for renovations?

WEST SPRINGFIELD — The eastbound rest stop on Interstate 90 in Springfield Township is closed, and is expected to remain closed until January 2025.

The facility is being renovated.

Work will include the construction of accessible bathrooms and an air-filling station and upgrades to the facility's water well and sewage treatment plant, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The rest stop is the only one in Erie County along the interstate's eastbound lanes.

The westbound rest stop in North East Township remains open.

In Mercer County, the rest stop along Interstate 80 eastbound is also closed until January 2025.

Work there also includes new bathrooms and air-filling station construction as well as a new roof; new tile flooring and cabinetry; and connections to public water and sewer systems.
