Brad Stonebraker marvels at Los Angeles Lakers G/F LeBron James' ability to produce top-three fantasy value well into his 19th season and showing no signs of slowing down.
BRAD STONEBRAKER: Now in his 19th season in the NBA, Laker superstar LeBron James is one of the most well-known athletes in the world across all sports. James continues to win his battle with Father Time by a hefty margin, and despite his team's often inexplicable struggles this season, one really can't put much blame on LeBron.
After a 39-point eruption in yet another loss on Christmas Day to bring the Lakers to five straight losses as of that point, LeBron's averages on the season come out to 27.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.7 steals, 1 block, 2.6 3-pointers, and 3.5 turnovers per game.
This is just another reminder that he turns 37 years old at the end of the month. And while he's battled some injuries over the last couple of years, you cannot deny the greatness that is LeBron James when he does play. He is someone who has now spent more than half of his entire life playing in this league, and he's somehow still putting up top-three fantasy value in leagues on a per-game basis. LeBron just continues to dominate in ways we never thought were possible, and his managers are surely smiling all the way through it.
