Long lines were reported at COVID-19 test sites across the US on Thursday, December 23, ahead of the holidays and amid a surge in Omicron cases.

A total of 15,482 new positive cases and 22 hospital deaths within the last 24 hours were reported in New Jersey on Thursday, according to official records.

President Joe Biden said that 500 million at-home COVID-19 tests would be sent to Americans beginning in January 2022 as part of a plan to combat a rise in cases. Credit: @samlo_xo via Storyful
