Passengers reported delays at airports in the US and internationally on May 21 after a check-in system experienced a “technical issue”, impacting airlines including JetBlue and American.
A spokesperson for American Airlines told Storyful: “Earlier today, Sabre had a technical issue that impacted multiple carriers, including American. This issue has been resolved. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
Sabre’s website states their system: “provides fast, reliable and comprehensive check-in options that expedite and enhance the passenger’s experience while streamlining the operational efficiency of airline airport agents.” The company told Storyful: “We confirm there has been an outage of the Sabre system, impacting several customers. However, the issue is now fully resolved and we will take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence.”
