NV compiled the main statements from the two leaders.

Joe Biden:

  • Ukraine has already achieved an enormous victory over Russia and Putin, and will emerge from the war “proud, free, and firmly rooted in the West” unless the U.S. walks away.

  • The US will support Ukraine “as long as we can, but without supplemental funding we're rapidly coming to an end of our ability to help Ukraine.”

  • Putin is betting that the U.S. will stop assisting Ukraine, and the U.S. must prove him wrong.

  • The Republicans are to blame for the deadlock in aid to Ukraine. The fact that support for Ukraine is blocked pleases Russian propagandists, and perhaps Republicans need to ‘reflect.’

  • Right now, Ukraine's freedom is at stake, but if Putin is not stopped, the freedom of almost everyone in the world will be under threat.

  • The White House is working with Republicans and Democrats to find a bipartisan compromise on the border, the U.S. President is ready for a compromise.

  • Ukraine's victory means that “Ukraine is a sovereign and independent nation” capable of defending itself against aggression.

  • Ukraine will be in NATO, but right now, everything must be done to ensure it wins the war.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy:

  • Ukraine has liberated 50% of the territory captured by Russia after Feb. 24, 2022, achieved victory in the Black Sea, and is reviving its economy thanks to maritime export.

  • Presidents discussed increasing of Ukrainian capabilities in 2024. Ukraine intends to destroy Russian logistics on Ukrainian territory and deprive Russia of its advantage in the air because “whoever controls the sky, controls the duration of the war”.

  • Two-thirds of American support for Ukraine remains in the U.S.

  • Ukraine and the U.S. have shown that partnership is stronger than any Russian aggression.

  • The counteroffensive was difficult, but Ukraine has made serious progress forward, the Defense Forces destroyed the “core” of the so-called Wagner PMC — 20,000 fighters, and Russia did not capture a single Ukrainian village.

  • Zelensky received “more than positive” signals from senators during his meetings in the U.S., Ukraine counts on the positive result.

  • Giving up territories would be absolute madness for Ukraine.
