‘It’s been a long time coming’: Eagerly awaited Voodoo Doughnut Dallas store to finally open

Portland-based gourmet doughnut joint Voodoo Doughnut announced Monday that the first store in Dallas will open on Nov. 20, becoming the eighth Texas location.

“It’s been a long time coming,” said CEO Chris Schultz. “We’re very excited to finally bring some of that Voodoo Magic to the city of Dallas.”

The Voodoo Doughnut store opening its doors 8 a.m. on Monday will be located at 1806 Greenville Avenue, Suite 120, Dallas, TX 75206. There, “fans will experience a doughnut lover’s dream with sparkling chandeliers, spinning jewel-like cases featuring all the sweet options, funky wallpaper, a black velvet painting with a nod to a Dallas native and so much more everyone has come to expect from the iconic brand.”

Voodoo Doughnut started in Portland, Oregon after founders Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon rented a small storefront for their shop in 2003. Voodoo Doughnut offers more than 50 artisan flavor options including 25 vegan options.

Unique flavors include the Bacon Maple Bar, Memphis Mafia and The Cannolo. The store offers over 50 flavor options, including 25 vegan alternatives.

Voodoo Doughnut, established in 2003, recently announced a new store opening in Chicago, as part of its ongoing expansion across different neighborhoods in the U.S. Voodoo Doughnut currently operates 21 restaurants in Oregon, Colorado, Texas, California, Washington, Arizona, Tennessee and Florida.
