A Longboat Key mansion sold for $10.4 million, the highest yet on the barrier island so far this year, according to the brokerage that negotiated the sale.

The beachfront estate at 6211 Gulf of Mexico Drive "just closed," according to Coldwell Banker Realty. A search of property records showed the deed had yet to be recorded with the Manatee County Clerk of Courts.

Judy Kepecz-Hays, a global luxury specialist, represented both buyer and seller in the transaction.

The estate included a 4,980-square-foot residence with five bedrooms, a two-story library, a six-car garage, and another "flex-room" that could be used as a game room or gym located on nearly an acre of beachfront property.

The Judy Kepecz-Hays Team, one of the top-producing real estate teams affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty, is comprised of Kepecz-Hays, her son Steven Kepecz, and Lori Lawson. Combined, the team has more than 60 years of real estate experience, according to a Coldwell Banker Realty news release.

The previous owner is listed as the Estate of Ronald Thomas George Platt, according to the Manatee County Property Appraiser's website.

Platt, a longtime resident of Longboat Key, died last year at the age of 94, according to a news report.
