Two new Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants are opening soon in North Texas.

A location near Burleson, at 12549 South Freeway near the interchange of Interstate 35 and East Rendon Crowley Road, is opening Dec. 4 next to a Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. The 5,710-square-foot restaurant is on a 1.75-acre pad at I-35 and Rendon Crowley Road.

The other newly announced Longhorn Steakhouse is coming to Denton in front of the Buc-ee’s. The 5,780-square-foot restaurant will open in spring 2024 on the southwest corner of Interstate 35E and Buc-ee’s Boulevard.

The developer of both locations is Dallas-based Sendero Cross Capital, a commercial real estate company that has worked for years with Longhorn Steakhouse’s parent company, Daren Restaurants Inc.

Until now, Fort Worth has had only one LongHorn Steakhouse, on the far north side near Alliance. The Metroplex has two other Longhorns, in Grand Prairie and Plano, as well as one in Weatherford.

Longhorn Steakhouse started in 1981 in Atlanta. It became part of the Darden portfolio in 2007, whose brands also include Cheddar’s, Olive Garden, Ruth’s Chris Steak house, The Capital Grille and Eddie V’s.

The steakhouses have been one of Darden’s strongest performers. In the most recent quarter that ended in August, Darden reported same-store sales up 8.1% at more than 500 Longhorn restaurants, compared with Olive Garden’s 6.1% sales increase.

Darden had 562 locations of LongHorn Steakhouses as of August, up from 549 a year earlier.

Don McKechnie, a Sendero Cross Capital partner said about the Burleson and Denton locations of Longhorn Steakhouse: “Our clients rely on us when establishing multiple stores in major and secondary markets including one-of-a-kind urban adaptive opportunities. We have the expertise and commitment required to navigate the entire real estate process from start to finish, including construction management and move-in.”
