The late Paige Rense, who passed away in January, served as the editor in chief of Architectural Digest for 35 years. Beyond taking readers into the homes of iconic celebrities such as Candice Bergen, Barbara Streisand, and many more, she elevated AD’s pages to include access to industry greats. Whether stepping into Valentino’s Italian villa or the studio of renowned artist Frank Stella, she certainly amped up the magazine’s glossy pages.

It’s no surprise she channeled this level of sophistication into her own residence. Before she passed away, Rense lived in a reimagined Mediterranean-style home in West Palm Beach, Florida—which is currently on sale for $3.995 million. Major renovations and improvements were done to the three-bedroom home over the years, without compromising its architectural identity. The hand-painted Portuguese tile, winding cobblestone walkway, and unique one-of-a-kind finishes still remain highlights of the dwelling.

However, the true gem is the 12,637 square feet of perfectly manicured landscaping. (When you live by the water and it’s sunny all day long, you have to make sure your palm trees are on point.) Greenery aside, there’s an elegant private pool. On the other side lies a separate guesthouse that completes the grand intra-coastal estate. Located in the sought-after SoSo neighborhood of West Palm Beach, this is beachside living at its finest; whoever purchases it will be investing in a piece of AD history.
