Spinato's Pizzeria & Family Kitchen has become the official pizza for the Suns and Mercury at the Footprint Center, where fans can expect to enjoy the Chicago-style pizza when the NBA season starts in October.

“We’ve been big fans for decades, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with our patrons and fans for another stellar season,” said Ken Spinato in a news release.

Open since 1974, Spinato’s is known for Chicago-style pizza with a sweet sauce. However, throughout the years, family members have added new recipes. The pizzeria now has six locations around metro Phoenix and a seventh opening in Gilbert.

Spinato's logo now welcomes fans to the Footprint center where a new concession stand will open in October. They're also creating a signature pie for the games.

"In September, we plan to come up with the recipe in-house and collaborate with the two mascots for a name that's universal for both teams," said Erin Schultz, Spinato's marketing director. "The mascots will build the pizza, taste it and make comments or any changes."

In addition to the mascot pizza and a lineup of other pies, Spinato's will sell Four Peaks Brewery's Sunbru, the official beer of the Phoenix Suns, at the concession stand where staff will wear State Forty Eight t-shirts at every game.
