Longtime Greenville restaurant Addys Dutch Cafe announces permanent closure

Addys Dutch Cafe, a staple of the downtown Greenville restaurant scene since it opened in 1990, is closing its doors permanently, according to a Facebook post by the restaurant's operators.

After a number of issues had led the European-style gastropub to be closed much of the last several years, a legal dispute with the restaurant's property owner has led to the lasting closure, according to the post.

Amsterdam native Addy Sulley left a successful career as head of research and development of a textile firm to launch Addys with business partner Nina Biagiotti in 1990.
