Stephen Ploof, a longtime agent with Linda A. Gary Real Estate in Palm Beach, has transferred his real estate license to Douglas Elliman Florida Real Estate.

With 24 years of experience in the real estate industry, Ploof is originally from upstate New York but moved to South Florida to attend what is today Palm Beach Atlantic University. He joined broker Linda Gary after graduating.

Among his largest sales, he represented buyer Sydell Miller in 2019 when the beauty-products mogul paid a recorded $42.56 million for the top floor at The Bristol, the then-new ultra-luxury condominium tower on South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. In that deal, Ploof negotiated opposite Elliman agent Samantha Curry and her Elliman colleagues Christopher Leavitt and Marisela Cotilla. Also on Elliman’s Bristol sales team were Sonja Stevens, who has since joined Sotheby’s International Realty, and Steven Menezes.

In 2012, Ploof acted for the buyer, a trust, in what was then a record-setting sale of a Palm Beach mansion developed on speculation on a lakeside lot at 1220 S. Ocean Blvd. Representing developer Dan Swanson in that deal was agent Jim McCann, then of then of the Corcoran Group but today at Premier Estate Properties.

“I am proud of what I have accomplished, but the timing now makes sense for me to join Douglas Elliman Florida, the company that provides the best resources and tools for its agents,” Ploof said in a statement released by his new agency.
