After a string of health and personal problems, Lamar Odom has finally gotten his life back in order. The former basketball recently competed on the new season of Dancing With the Stars and is making a career comeback. But that isn't the only thing he's celebrating. Yesterday, Odom announced that he and his girlfriend Sabrina Parr are engaged.

Odom was previously married to reality star and businesswoman Khloe Kardashian. The two were married for 7 years before divorcing in 2006. So let's take a look back at the history of Lamar and Khloe's relationship.

Their Whirlwind Courtship

Celebrities are known to move very quickly when it comes to love. For Lamar and Khloe, they didn't waste any time. The pair started dating in August 2009 and were married one month later. Their short courtship and quickie wedding became the hottest topic with the tabloids. Khloe was a big star thanks to her family's reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Everyone wanted to know about her new husband and how their relationship came to be. The couple's extravagant wedding was featured on Khloe's show.

Lamar was already a big star in the NBA, but his relationship with Khloe made him more famous. Odom became a prominent fixture on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. He won viewers with his kind-hearted attitude and how he treated Khloe like a queen. The couple became such a huge hit that the landed their own spinoff Khloe & Lamar, which premiered on the E! Network in April 2011. The show detailed the couple's struggles as they dealt with Khloe's brother Rob moving in with them along with Lamar being traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Another main focus of the show was the couple's desire to start a family and Khloe's fertility issues.

Despite being a hit with fans, the show only lasted two season.

The Couple's Divorce

While the couple may have seemed happy onscreen, behind the scenes trouble was brewing. Lamar couldn't handle the pressure of being in the spotlight. Odom began drinking and doing drugs, which caused trouble in his marriage. In July 2015, the couple announced they were divorcing after six years together.

However, a few months later had an overdose, which caused him to have a series of strokes and kidney failure. He was placed in a coma and things looked grim for the star. Khloe rushed to the hospital to be by Lamar's side, leading to speculation the couple would get back together. With Khloe's support, Lamar made a full recovery. However, their relationship couldn't be repaired and their divorce was finalized in December 2016.
