The weather is beginning to finally feel like Spring here in Shreveport and if you're looking to get out of the house to enjoy it, there is plenty of fun to get into this weekend.

Whether you're still celebrating Mardi Gras with bals and parades or looking for a fun activity like bike riding or candle-pouring, check out what's happening in Shreveport over the weekend.

Friday, February 17

  • Highland Rats & Cats Mardi Gras Ball at The Missing Link - Come out to the Missing Link at 9 p.m. for a night filled with music from the Everett Street Jazz Band and a special menu you won't want to miss. Tickets are $10 on the Eventbrite website or $15 at the door. The Missing Link is at 504 Texas St. in downtown Shreveport.

  • The Krewe of Highland Grand Bal XXVII at The Remington Garage - The theme of the night is "A Surreal Symposium" where you'll need to don your best Greek toga and mask. Come as your favorite Greek god or goddess and dance the night away. Tickets can be purchased at the Krewe of Highland Square website. The party starts at 6 p.m. at 211 Market St. in downtown Shreveport.

  • The Candle Pouring Experience at the Andress Artist & Entrepreneur Center - Do you love the hand-poured candles at Clean Slate Botanicals? Well, now you can create your own custom scent along with a night of good conversation and laughs while you and your friends create beautiful custom candles to take home. Tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased at the Clean Slate Botanicals website. The event starts at 7 p.m. at 717 Crockett St. in Shreveport.

Saturday, February 18

  • Krewe of Gemini XXXIV Parade - Head to downtown Shreveport to catch thousands of throws and have tons of fun with the Krewe of Gemini.

  • Gemini Slow Roll at Great Raft Brewing - Bike Shreveport invites you to their annual Bicycle Bal where you can enjoy a bike ride on the car-free streets of Shreveport. Meet at Great Raft at 1251 Dalzell St. in Shreveport at Noon, roll out will be at 1:30 p.m. There will be a rendezvous at Fatty Arbuckles and Shreve City.

  • Uplifting Black Artists at The Agora Borealis - Every weekend in February The Agora Borealis will showcase local Black artists for Black History Month. This week you can check out Charmel Lester from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Akeeta Beasley from 4 - 6 p.m. at 421 Lake St. in Shreveport.

Sunday, February 19

  • 11th Annual Mardi Gras Bash at Marilynn's Place - This all-ages event kicks off at 9 a.m. and goes on all day until 8 p.m. Grab a bowl of gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, meat pies, beignets and more. Enjoy the Highland parade, live music from That Girl DJ and DJ Faze as well as prosecco on tap and draft beer. Call 318-868-3004 to reserve a spot. Marilynn's Place is located at 4041 Fern Ave. in Shreveport.

  • 28th Annual Krewe of Highland Parade - Starting at 2 p.m. you can watch the parade make its way through the amazing and unique historic Highland neighborhood where you can catch thousands of fun throws.
