Here’s a look at some big boys and girls metro-east basketball from Tuesday night

The metro-east boys and girls basketball seasons continued with several key games Tuesday.

Here is a quick view of some of the outcomes.

BOYS

East St. Louis 80, Belleville West 56

The Flyers dominated the Maroons with a 24-point victory.

Macaleab Rich led East St. Louis with 24 points. David Marshall Jr. had 17 points for Belleville West.

East St. Louis improved to 18-6 overall and 6-3 in the Southwestern Conference while Belleville West fell to 12-14, 2-7.

Look ahead: East St. Louis hosts Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the former Lindenwood-Belleville campus. Belleville West visits Alton at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Belleville East 57, Alton 45

The Lancers rolled past the Redbirds with a 12-point victory.

Jordan Pickett and Antwine Wilson led Belleville East with 16 points apiece. Belleville East improved to 24-4 overall and 6-3 in the SWC while Alton fell to 5-21, 0-10.

Look ahead: Belleville East hosts O’Fallon at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Alton entertains Belleville West at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Collinsville 59, O’Fallon 51

The Kahoks eased past the Panthers by nine points.

Jake Wilkinson led Collinsville with 22 points. Collinsville improved to 19-9 overall and 6-4 in the SWC while O’Fallon fell to 19-7, 7-3.

Look ahead: O’Fallon visits Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Collinsville hosts Miller Career at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11.

Edwardsville 51, Mascoutah 48

The Tigers got a tight three-point victory over the Indians.

Edwardsville improved to 18-8 overall while Mascoutah fell to 20-8.

Look ahead: Edwardsville faces East St. Louis at the former Lindenwood-Belleville campus at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Mascoutah hosts Triad at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Breese Central 50, Columbia 39

The Cougars cut the Eagles’ 18-game winning streak with a 11-point victory.

Cody Dickshot led Breese Central with 17 points, while Chase Lewis posted 13 points. Jack Steckler led Columbia with 13 points. The Cougars improved to 23-4 overall and 7-0 in the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference while Columbia fell to 25-3, 6-1.

Look ahead: Breese Central visits Freeburg at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Columbia hosts Roxana at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Wesclin 53, Freeburg 44

The Warriors eased to a nine-point victory over the Midgets.

Wesclin improved to 20-9 overall while Freeburg fell to 20-9. Seth Macke led the Warriors with 23 points, while Chandler Mueller posted 15 points. Cole Stuart paced the Midgets with 15 points and Lane Otten contributed 13 points.

Red Bud 52, Marissa 39

The Musketeers got past the Meteors with a 13-point win.

Noah Ganter led Red Bud with 13 points and Devin Hall added 11 points, for Red Bud, which improved 20-8 overall while Marissa fell to 15-6.

Waterloo 51, Salem 45

The Bulldogs downed the Wildcats by six points.

Waterloo improved to 7-21 overall while Salem dropped to 6-22.

Cahokia 50, Althoff 44

The Comanches got by the Crusaders for a six point win.

Cahokia improves to 9-18 overall and 3-5 in the South Seven Conference, while Althoff falls to 8-20, 1-7.

GIRLS

O’Falllon 56, Collinsville 20

The Panthers got a decisive 36-point victory over the Kahoks to clinch the Southwestern Conference championship.

Shannon Dowell led O’Fallon with 22 points while breaking the school’s single-season scoring record (693 points) and all-time career scoring record (1,744 points).

O’Fallon finishes the regular-season at 27-4 overall and 11-1 in the Southwestern Conference while Collinsville dropped to 14-16, 4-7.

Look ahead: Collinsville visits Alton at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9. The Panthers face Belleville West at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the IHSA Class 4A Belleville East Regional.

Alton 57, Belleville East 32

The Redbirds dominated with a 25-point victory over the Lancers.

Alton improved to 27-1 and 11-1 in the SWC while Belleville East fell to 7-16, 3-8.
