Take a look at Brooks Koepka’s injuries through the years

Brooks Koepka earned his first major championship victory at the U.S. Open in 2017 at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. Later that year, he also had his first bout with an injury as a professional.

Over the last few years the four-time major championship winner has dealt with several injuries, most recently a right knee strain that forced him to withdraw from the 2021 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. The withdrawal comes just a month after he won the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February and a few weeks after a T-2 finish at the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession.

Take a scroll through Koepka’s injury history, from a torn tendon in his wrist to a strain in his knee.

2017

Koepka was nursing a left wrist injury in December and in January of 2018 announced he would be out at least two months with a partially torn tendon in his left wrist. He was ultimately out for 15 weeks, was in a soft cast for two months and didn’t touch a club for 91 days. “It was torn a lot worse than they originally thought,” said Koepka, who doesn’t know what caused the partial tear to a tendon. “The ligaments that hold the tendon in place were gone. Every time I went to the doctor, it seemed like it got worse and worse.” Koepka's treatment included withdrawing bone marrow from his hip and injecting it into his left wrist, and then another session a month later of platelet-rich plasma injections.

2019

In September, Koepka underwent a stem cell procedure on his left knee after struggling with a partially torn patella tendon. That knee injury didn't allow Koepka to properly shift his weight to his left side, causing a hip injury. In October he was eventually diagnosed with a torn labrum, suffered during August's PGA Championship. Also in October, Koepka re-aggravated his knee injury after slipping on wet concrete at the CJ Cup at Nine Bridges and was forced to withdraw from the tournament, knocking him out of competition for another three months.

2020

After struggling with hip and knee issues all year long, Kopeka withdrew from the FedEx Cup playoffs' Northern Trust near the end of the season. He also missed the U.S. Open at Winged Foot to allow his injuries to heal properly. He summed up his disappointing year by saying, "I don't know if I could say that without getting fined. Pretty bad." Disappointing by his standards, at least. The four-time major champion notched four top-10 finishes in 2020 and dropped to No. 12 in the world ranking.

2021

Koepka withdrew from the 2021 Players Championship due to a strained right knee. The 30-year-old won the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February and last played at the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession where he finished in a tie for second. He dealt with a neck injury all week at the WGC.
