The high school girls basketball regular season has come to an end.

While the postseason matchups, locations and even some seeding was still being determined at press time, we know who is advancing to the postseason. Moreover, we had some big things happen the final night that we need to go over.

New leader

LeBron James wasn't the only one breaking scoring records Tuesday night.

Cassie McClurg of Highland Park became the Lady Hornets' all-time leader in points with 21 against Boys Ranch. HP didn't make the postseason this year, so she ends her prep career with 1,853 points. The record had been set since 1993.

While the Hornets won't be going to the playoffs, McClurg did help them get their first district win of the season and eliminate Boys Ranch from the playoff race. One more thing she can hang her hat on.

Milestones galore

A slew of milestones have been set throughout the basketball season, but Miami had a pair of big moments on Tuesday night.

Mercedes Ewing scored her 1,000th career point in a 75-25 victory over Lefors. Her classmate on the boys side, Haiden Thompson, also hit 1,000 career points. Both are just juniors and will be back for more next season.

Ewing is set to lead Miami into the postseason on Feb. 14 against Silverton at Panhandle High School.

Do the Hustle

The Pampa Lady Harvesters often refer to themselves as the Hustlin' Harvesters. After coming up with a 42-39 victory over Dumas on Tuesday, they're Hustlin' on into the postseason.

After a slow start to the district season, Pampa not only locked up a playoff spot, but leapfrogged Hereford to become the third seed in District 4-4A. Pampa will now face Greenwood on Tuesday at Lubbock Christian University.

Clinched and ... not so much

Dalhart defeated River Road to clinch a place in the postseason. Bovina lost its final game of the season, but with the loss by Boys Ranch will make the postseason.

Now, one last thing remains to be settled.

West Texas Stinnett defeated Booker on Tuesday, while Sanford-Fritch lost to Gruver. Now, the two teams will face off to determine the fourth seed in district at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Stinnett. Winner goes to the playoffs, loser goes home.
