A look at short-term rentals in Newport County registered with the state

A new law approved by the General Assembly after initially being vetoed by Gov. Dan McKee earlier this year requires short-term rental owners to register their property with the state by Jan. 1, 2023.

With a little more than a month to go, owners across Newport County have started to comply with the new regulation with approximately 400 active rental properties listed on the state's registration website.
