A look at the top 5 luxury hotels in Myrtle Beach area. One has a seven-bedroom penthouse

With private cabanas, swim-up pool bars, and even penthouses with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, it’s obvious why these places have been named the Grand Strand’s top luxury hotels.

Millions of people make their way to the Myrtle Beach area each year to enjoy the beaches, golf courses, restaurants and many attractions. That means many of them are looking for a place to stay.

But unless you are ready to fork out some big bucks, these hotels may be a little out of reach for the average vacationer.

Room rates for many of these hotels range from $362 to more than $1,000 a night.

The Travel, an online travel site that focuses on vacation destinations and industry news, published Wednesday its top five luxury hotels in the Myrtle Beach area. The listings were based on hotel ratings.

Many of the suggestions follow a similar list by the U.S. World News & Report of its top Myrtle Beach-area spots.
