Steve Shapiro makes a key Sept. 27 at White Plains Keymasters on Mamaroneck Avenue. White Plains Keymasters has served White Plains and the surrounding area from the same Mamaroneck Avenue location for the past 49 years.

Construction at Hamilton Green on Sept. 27, the site of the former White Plains Mall. The residential project will include four mixed-income multifamily buildings totaling 860 rental units, including 78 on-site affordable units, open space, underground parking, as well as dining, retail and commercial space. This is one of several new construction projects going on in White Plains.

Frank Spinali, aka Francesco, cooking in the kitchen of his Mamaroneck Avenue restaurant Sept. 27. Spinali, who is from Florence, Italy, started working as a waiter at the restaurant in 1964, bought it in 1970 and named it Francesco's. The establishment offers a wide range of traditional Italian dishes and is a family-run business with Frank's son Paolo running the bar and his daughter Francesca running the dining room.

Every Wednesday between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Court Street is closed between Martine Avenue and Main Street for the White Plains Farmers Market. The market is anchored by four farmers from the region and supplemented with about 20 vendors.

Dunne's Pub on Shapham Place in the heart of White Plains has a warm friendly Irish Pub scene. Dunne's has outdoor dining that makes you feel like you're in a small Irish town. Open seven days a week, Dunne's host a traditional Irish Seisiun every Wednesday night.
