Looking for the best pizza in Utah? Here are 3 spots on Yelp’s Top 100 US pizza joints
LA VERKIN, Utah (ABC4) — If you’re looking for the best pizza in Utah, you won’t find it on the Wasatch Front, according to a recent ranking of the Top 100 pizza spots in the U.S. from Yelp. Instead, you’ll have to travel a little further south.
Yelp used several factors to determine their list, including the number of five-star reviews left by the “Yelp Elite Squad.” Three Utah pizza spots made it onto the list, with the top-rated ranking only as high as No. 66 — but when you consider how many pizza joints there are in the U.S., that’s no small feat.
According to Yelp, the River Rock Roasting Company, located in La Verkin in southern Utah has the best pizza in the Beehive State. According to their menu, their pizza dough is house-made and hand-tossed, topped with their own sauces and fresh ingredients.

River Rock Roasting Company certainly is more well known for its baked goods and coffee, which most reviewers said they’ve enjoyed before hitting a trail at Zion National Park. But one reviewer from Provo said the restaurant “has game on numerous levels.”
“We requested roasted garlic on one pizza which came with whole cloves of garlic roasted to sweetness,” the review said.
Centro Woodfired Pizzeria in Cedar City ranked at No. 69 on Yelp’s Top 100 list. According to their website, the restaurant’s pizza is inspired by traditional Italian cooking techniques using family recipes passed down for generations. While you could order a carry-out, the pizzeria suggests eating in the restaurant for the best flavor and experience.
One reviewer said they found Centro Woodfired Pizzeria while on vacation and now they want to “gatekeep” the place.
“The pizzas were so delicious and the salads was so fresh and tasty” read the review. “I can go on and on but I won’t. You just need to come and see for yourself.”
Finally, adventurers in Moab looking for a bite to eat need to look no further than Antica Forma which they say means “the old form.” The pizza shop ranked at No. 80 in the best pizza spots in the U.S. and vows to “bring back real pizza” using genuine neapolitan pizza dough, a pizza sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes and fresh house-made mozzarella.

One reviewer, who claims to be snobbish about pizza, called Antica Forma “legit.”
“[The pizzas] are made in an impressive imported wood-fired oven,” wrote the reviewer. “The bottom of the crust is perfectly charred and the pizzas are beautifully balanced in terms of the amount of ingredients. Everything is fresh.”
So where is the best pizza in the U.S.?
It may come as no surprise to learn that a Chicago spot, Pequod’s Pizzeria, topped the list. California had three pizza joints in the Top 5 and four overall in the Top 10. New York had three locations in the top 10.
