It’s officially summertime and a surge of Floridians have already made plans to take road trips to domestic destinations and plenty more have plans to fly out to international ones.

About 83% of Floridians said they are planning to travel this year, with 57% saying they plan to do so in the summer, according to a recent AAA travel survey. In that survey, 40% said they’re planning beach vacations, while 37% said they’re headed to visit theme parks.

Most Floridians are planning to road trip, but at least 25% plan to take commercial flights to their destinations, prompting us to take a look at which destinations for which Pensacola residents could book a cheap summer destination flight.

Anyone looking to book a last-minute July 4 weekend trip is a bit out of luck, as airline ticket prices have surged. But for anyone looking to plan a quick getaway, we were able to find seven deals for hundreds less than you’d typically find them.

Pensacola (PNS) to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (CLT) — $377

What to do: Cabo San Lucas is a top travel destination in Mexico that lies at the southern tip of the Baja California Sur peninsula.
