Looking for dinner plans before the ball drops? These 5 restaurants have New Year's Eve specials

From a seven-course dinner with braised oxtail tortellini and opera cake at Bar Cecil in Palm Springs, to a family event with carving stations and dancing at bluEmber restaurant in Rancho Mirage, there are plenty of dining options in or around Palm Springs this New Year's Eve.

The following five restaurants or resorts across the Coachella Valley — and many more — are offering dinner specials before the ball drops, and some include champagne toasts as the clock strikes midnight.

With only a few weeks away until the start of 2022, those hoping to dine out for New Year's should also make reservations for some restaurants sooner rather than later.

The first, dubbed "the Beaton experience," is served from 6 to 9 p.m. and includes a seven-course dinner, which spans welcome drinks and canapés, braised oxtail tortellini, beef Wellington, opera cake (ganache, mocha buttercream, almond joconde) and more. The meal starts at $350 a person.

Another option, starting at $30 a person and lasting from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., involves a Veuve Clicquot midnight champagne toast with a light a la carte menu available. Guests should email NYE@barcecil.com to make reservations — there are only a few spots left.

As a first course, guests can choose between a lobster bisque or winter squash velouté; next, a l'orange duck crepe or beef tartare; third, an endive or persimmon Waldorf salad; fourth, a Chilean sea bass or a rosewood petit filet or truffle gnocchi; and finally, chocolate truffles or goat brie.

The restaurant added that there could be last-minute changes to the menu, as well as champagne specials. Dinner service stretches from 5 p.m. to the last seating at 9 p.m. The meal is $120 a person and $148 with wine pairings.
