Looking for egg hunts or where to take photos with the Easter Bunny in Shreveport-Bossier?

Easter Sunday is April 9 this year, but Shreveport-Bossier is kicking off the festivities a little earlier to make sure the whole family is able to celebrate together with a variety of fun events that all include some type of egg hunt.

Saturday, April 1

  • Easter Egg Hunt & Ladybug Release at the American Rose Center - From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. the whole family can participate in Easter-themed games along with face painting, nature scavenger hunts, art stations, a 10,000-egg hunt and more. The annual ladybug release will take place at noon where children will be invited to help release 27,000 environmentally friendly ladybugs into the gardens. The cost is $10 per person or $25 per carload. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be $10 each.

  • A Story with the Easter Bunny - The Grove Shreveport invites everyone out to see the Easter Bunny and to stay for a special story time with Vanessa from Sugar Britches Children's Boutique at 2 p.m. at 107 Spring St. in Shreveport.

Sunday, April 2

  • Easter Egg Hunt at Trinity Heights Baptist Church - Bring the whole family to hear the story about the true meaning of Easter then let the kids hunt eggs and enjoy snow cones. The egg hunt is for children through 5th grade. The fun begins at 2 p.m. at 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd.

Saturday, April 8

  • SC Church's Easter Eggstravaganza at Cargill Park - From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. the Cargill Softball Park will be transformed into a free Easter Eggstravaganza for all of Shreveport-Bossier.

  • Eggstraordinary Shreveport Easter Egg Hunt at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum - Starting at 5:40 p.m. on the grassy area outside of the box office, there will be egg hunts for different age groups. Kids age 5 and under will be first, followed by kids ages 6 - 10 and kids 11 and up will finish out the event. George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum is located at 3207 Pershing Blvd.

  • Meet the Easter Bunny at Learning Express Toys of Shreveport - From Noon - 2 p.m. the Easter Bunny will be set up at Learning Express Toys for kids to meet and pose with for photos. This is a free event and there is no reservation needed. Learning Express Toys is located at 5804 Line Ave. in Shreveport.

  • 3rd Annual "A Sincere Easter in the CommUNITY" at Valencia Park - From 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Valencia Park in the Stoner Hill neighborhood will be open for the community to enjoy live music, games, giveaways, food and a huge Easter egg hunt.

  • Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lowe-McFarlane Post No. 14 - From 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for a fun-filled day for the whole family with a huge egg hunt for the kids at 5315 S. Lakeshore Dr. in Shreveport.

Sunday, April 9

  • Easter Extravaganza at A.B. Palmer Park - From 2 - 6 p.m. the A.B. Palmer Park will have food, games, a bounce house, music, face painting and a giant Easter egg hunt for the community to enjoy with free entry. The egg hunt will begin at 3 p.m. at 547 E. 79th St.
