Kentucky-based but seemingly always somewhere in the Evansville area, this truck offers dipped, hard ice cream made with Wisconsin cream. Flavors include banana pudding, chocolate chunk and more. Best part is that you can have it as  a cone or in a float.

Bayou Boys Concession

If you see an alligator on the side of the truck, you got the right place. Stating that they offer “Some of the best sno-balls in the South," the Bayou boys offer more than 30 different flavors, some sugar-free and some dye-free, ranging from dill pickle to pina colada to tiger's blood.

Traveling Tom's Coffee

Frappes, cold brews, lemonades and a Tommy Palmer are among the cold drinks offered to give you the energy and caffeine you need but still keep you cool.

Twist Truck

This Henderson, Kentucky-based vendor has everything from soft-serve ice cream to coffee and shaved ice. Offering the classic chocolate and vanilla flavors with toppings, they venture into flavors such as Birthday Cake, Pink Lemon Sour and more.

Kona Ice of Evansville

They bring a one-of-a-kind tropical experience to Evansville. As you flavor your Kona Ice with their signature mixes such as Lucky Lime and Island Rush, dance to their island tunes and enjoy a cold treat.

Lollys Pops

Ice cream is always better when it’s in a handheld version. Here, you can get locally sourced, homemade frozen fruit and cream pops with ever-changing flavors from classic chocolate or cookies and cream to honey mango and chocolate-dipped strawberry cheesecake. For those who can’t catch the truck, they do sale for retail online at lollyspops.com, their office at 1016 S. Weinbach Ave Suite I or in local cafes around the city.

JB’s Barnyard

It's the truck with the giant cow on the side. Jared and Briley, a husband-and-wife duo who own the truck, offer flavors such as Peachy Peach, Cookie Monster and even their own personal choices for others to try out.  They’re big on mixing with Myriad, who provides alcohol to make shakes and floats stronger for those of legal drinking age, such as a mango sorbet shake or bourbon trail milkshake.

Sweet Dreams A La Mode

Sweet dreams are made of ice cream, right? Here you can switch between a waffle or ice cream or both. Big ones include Love Potion, a strawberry-flavored soda, or a Dream Lover which includes cookie butter, whipped cream, biscoff drizzle and more on top of a waffle. They also offer fruity desserts, a Butterbeer for Harry Potter fans and much more.

Big Top Drive-In 

1213 West Maryland St, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday.

The Big Top Drive-In has been owned by the same family for 30 years and it’s known for its giant clown on the roof of the restaurant. They provide everything from classic burgers to tenderloins to a mixture of sweet treats such as ice cream, sundaes, chocolate-covered bananas and cherries and its famed blasters.

Zesto

102 W. Franklin St. in Evansville. Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Known for their motto "Ice cream is good. Get some today!" From banana splits to Twinkle Totes to every popular shake flavor, this place offers a lot. Like many ice cream places, this one offers different flavors of ice cream, shakes and other treats for each individual store. This ice cream spot sparks a debate around the city: Which Zestos do you think is the best, Franklin or Riverside?

Lic’s Deli and Ice Cream

Several locations throughout the city.

Lloyd’s Ice Cream Shoppes or Lic’s started as a small retail shop with ice cream made in the back room and it was located at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and North Fares Avenue before being torn down for U.S. 41. Locally sourced and owned, this ice cream shop also provides sorbet, shakes, sandwiches and other food.

Milk & Sugar Scoop Shoppe

2027 W. Franklin St. in Evansville. Noon to 9 p.m. everyday.

With flavors such as blueberry cheesecake, zanzibar and exhausted parent, this small cafe style scoop shop offers over a dozen ever-changing flavors.

Orange Leaf

701 N. Burkhardt Road in Evansville. Sunday to Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. 

Known for their motto “Flavor Freedom," this place offers an alternative to traditional ice cream: frozen yogurt. Imagine getting chocolate shake or vanilla cake but with the lighter, smoother feeling of frozen yogurt. There’s also fruit smoothies for those looking to choose healthier options or even decorate their yogurt with the endless toppings that the restaurant offers.

Emge's Deli and Diner

206 Main St. in Evansville. Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

With over 45 years as a family-owned business, this is a go-to for both sandwiches, breakfast food and burgers. Ice cream has to be added to the list.
