Holy cow, it's almost September already. But August has one more weekend for us and, in Jacksonville, that weekend is heavy on comedy and country music. You can laugh with Michael Blackson or Randy Rainbow, learn to conserve water at RAM, giggle with monsters at the Florida Theatre or boogie in the aisles with Dierks Bentley and Ashley McBryde.

Michael Blackson has been in a lot more movies and TV shows than most people realize — "Next Friday," "30 Rock," "Coming 2 America." He also spends a lot of time on the road, doing standup comedy. That's what brings him to Jacksonville this weekend, five shows at the Comedy Zone in Mandarin. Showtimes are 7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday. $55-$79.

Randy Rainbow is a best-selling author and has three Emmy nominations. He also doesn't pull punches when he's skewering the pompous in his addictive online music parodies. He is finally bringing his Pink Glasses Tour to the Florida Theatre after two previous postponements. Expect songs, stories and an audience Q&A when he takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday. $35-$75.

At the weekly marketplace under the Fuller Warren Bridge off Riverside Avenue, they'll have representatives of the Water Institute, the city's Emergency Preparedness Department, the St. Johns Riverkeeper and Groundworks Jacksonville on hand to show what they're doing to become more resilient. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free,

Pixar had a couple of hit movies to its credit when it decided to go for the screams. "Monsters, Inc.," the 2001 animated classic that introduced kids to a fuzzy blue monster named Sulley and a talking eyeball called Mike. The film is showing at 2 p.m. Sunday, the final showing this year in the Florida Theatre's Summer Movie Classics Series. $10.
